Wilmington, Nov 30, 2020 (Senmer News Wire)  – The Wudhu Socks Continue Innovation for Observant Muslims with New Color Choices and Fabric
The Wudhu Socks, already known for helping observant Muslims make ablution (wudu, wudhu) more convenient with its innovative waterproof, breathable and 100% Shari’ah-compliant socks, is launching its new line of colors just in time for the fall/winter season. Adding to the current Jet Classic Black, the three new colors are Classic Brown, Navy Blue, and Stone Grey. So now, in addition to convenience and comfort, The Wudhu Socks offer colors to suit different styles. The new socks have also been improved with the addition of anti-pilling yarn, helping to prevent the formation of pills – those small balls of fuzz that often appear on sweaters and socks.
What are The Wudhu Socks?
The Wudhu Socks perform the same function as traditional leather socks (khuff) which have been used for hundreds of years to make ablution more convenient: instead of taking the socks off for ablution, you simply wipe over the socks. But unlike leather socks, The Wudhu Socks are fully breathable, preventing unpleasant odor, and they are similar in size to regular socks, so they can be worn comfortably with shoes all day long. The Wudhu Socks are constructed with an inner layer of all-natural bamboo fiber for comfort, an outer layer of nylon for durability, and a center high-tech membrane making them waterproof and breathable.
The Wudhu Socks Given Official Fatwa (Islamic ruling) by Darul Uloom

Umar Khan, co-founder of the company explains how The Wudhu Socks were certified by multiple renowned Islamic institutions, including Darul Uloom, Karachi, for masah (wiping over socks); read the fatwa (Islamic ruling) here.

“In order to receive this fatwa, our socks had to pass very strict tests. We had to walk three miles wearing only the socks – no shoes – and then prove afterward that the socks were still waterproof. And they were!” Khan says with a happy smile.
Company “for Muslims, by Muslims”
According to Khan, “The Wudhu Socks are made for Muslims, by Muslims, to satisfy an important need for quick, convenient ablution in the modern world.” According to the majority of Islamic scholars, not all socks can be used for masah (wiping over socks), so before prayers, the normal practice is to remove the socks and wash feet. Khan says he heard from many people, “businessmen, travelers, and even older people who have problems like arthritis. They want to be observant but at the same time, they said it can be very inconvenient – even very difficult sometimes – to make wudhu. So we made these socks for them.” When asked how The Wudhu Socks can make life easier for observant Muslims Khan responded, “Now they can keep their socks on!” Khan added that the company also gives a portion of its profits to support Muslim welfare education initiatives in developing countries.
