Berlin, Aug 14, 2020 (Senmer News Wire) – On Saturday, June 27th, Jonas Lohrmann celebrated his 16th birthday. The good thing: the day fell in the middle of the weekend. So nothing really stood in the way of a celebration. However, as Jonas’ manager confirmed on Monday, July 6th, he celebrated that day without any public appearances. However, there was a concert the day before, June 26th, where he could be heard with some competition pieces by “Jugend musiziert” and among other things a piece from the 1st International Grieg Piano Competition.
Competitions are canceled
Köthen – Even this year Jonas Lohrmann won the first prize on January 25th and was forwarded to the state competition in the renowned Johann Sebastian Bach music school. However, the 12-fold Jugend musiziert prizewinner did not take part in the state competition, because on March 13th, Jugend musiziert announced that the state competition, which would have taken place in Magdeburg from March 27 to March 29, as well as the national competition in Freiburg, were due to COVID -19 pandemic were canceled. The first international Grieg piano competition in Leipzig and the music school award in Stendal were also canceled.
